Valentine’s Day Jazz Cabaret

Love and music are in the air! Treat yourself and your loved ones to an evening of jazz melodies and soulful serenades that showcases the talents of St. Louis’ own Erin Wegner Brooks, Montel Butler, and Isaiah Shim. This program also marks the first offering of the Concert Series jazz cabaret series.

Three incredibly talented local artists take the stage for this outstanding evening of vocal and instrumental virtuosity. Erin Wegner Brooks has performed in musical theater Off-Broadway, on national tours, and in regional theater, in addition to captivating audiences in concerts and cabaret venues.  Also boasting an impressive catalog of regional musical theater performances is Montel Butler, whose career highlights include appearances at Madison Square Garden and in Saturday Night Live. Joining forces with the vocalists is pianist and conductor Isaiah Shim, who has thrilled audiences worldwide with his keyboard mastery, creative improvisations, and insightful arrangements. The fusion of musical brilliance brought to the stage by this trio promises a program of artistry and impassioned performances perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Erin Wegner Brooks is a seasoned storyteller who enjoys bringing stories to life on stage, on camera, and on the mic. Erin performed in the 1st National Tour of Young Frankenstein and Cirque Dreams, Off-Broadway in Pinkalicious, Wuthering Heights, and A Stoop on Orchard Street, in Las Vegas as a principal singer for Jubilee!, and with Disney both nationally and internationally.

Erin owns Allegro Productions and works as a full time Voice-Over artist, telling stories and bringing characters to life.  Happy clients include: Clinique, Amazon, Nationwide Insurance, Walmart Family Mobile, Facebook/META, 3M, Frigidaire, Baby Einstein, Chase, Benjamin Moore, NFCU, and VISA.

Erin’s solo cabaret show “Dare to Dream: Inspiration from the Broadway Songbook” played to sold-out audiences in NYC and Maryland.  She is excited to partner with St. Louis on this Valentine’s Cabaret.


Montel Butler is thrilled to join St. Louis this season as a guest artist! He has worked in Prestigious regional houses such as Signature and Keegan Theatres with standout performances in "Gun & Powder" and "Memphis." Additionally, he has graced the grand stage of Madison Square Garden and even rocked Saturday Night Live. Montel also contributed to the enchanting opening of the Disney Wish as Sebastian in “The Little Mermaid.”


Isaiah Shim is a Korean-American conductor and pianist based in the Baltimore-Washington metro area. He currently serves as Assistant Conductor of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and Columbia Pro Cantare. Past conducting and piano engagements in the region include Annapolis Opera, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras, Montgomery Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra, Young Artists of America as well as performances in countries of four continents.

Mr Shim received graduate degrees in conducting and collaborative piano from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with Marin Alsop, Joseph Young, and Eileen Cornett. Additionally, he received Bachelor of Music degrees in piano performance and music education from Wheaton College in Illinois, where he studied with Dr Karin Redekopp Edwards, and conducting with Drs Daniel Sommerville and John William Trotter.
