My Favorite Things
Saturday, September 30th, at 7:30PM
Featuring Jessica Rivera, soprano
With Destiny Mermagen, violin soloist
and the St. Louis Strings, Treble Choir, and Women of the St. Louis Choir

Venue: St. Louis Church (performance in the main church)

Reasons to attend this concert:

You like music that features string players. You will hear "Summer" from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. Leroy Anderson's "Plink, Plank, Plunk" shows off the skill of the performers and provides an amusing interlude.

You like Gospel, Spiritual, and Folk music. "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus," "He's Got the Whole World in His Hand," and "The Water is Wide" are on the program.

You like Musical Theater. You will hear "And This Is My Beloved" from Kismet (Best Broadway Musical, 1954). The Treble Choir of St Louis Parish will be featured in a medley from The Sound of Music.

And yes, you just might like Opera. From Puccini's La Bohème, "Quando M'en Vo" ("When I Go Along"), the aria which introduces Musetta, will be performed. A beautiful and famous and interesting piece, since Musetta is flirting with one man and trying to attract the attention of another.

You want to hear live music performed by acclaimed artists. Jessica Rivera won a Grammy Award for Ainadamar: Fountain of Tears by Osvaldo Golijov. On our program is "Lúa Descolorida" by the same composer.

You, like Jessica Rivera, love music and think it can soothe a troubled world.

And the final reason:

Your spouse likes music. Your spouse likes going on dates. You could join us for a perfect evening and make your spouse happy.
